2024 – Kitchen Sink: An Informed Approach to the Percussion Section
Lucas Allen is a Band Director/Percussion Specialist at Bowling Green Independent School District, teaching all BGJHS and BGHS Percussion Ensembles and the BGHSDrumline. He is also a percussion instructor with the Big Red Marching Band at Western Kentucky University. Mr. Allen is an active performer with Orchestra Kentucky of Bowling Green and has performed as a percussionist and timpanist with orchestras such as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and more.
Mr. Allen holds a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Western Kentucky University. His primary teachers were John Tafoya, Mark Berry, Craig Hetrick, Joseph Gramley, and Kevin Bobo.
