Kyle Payton is the Assistant Band Director at Daviess County High School in Owensboro, KY. He has held that position since 2018 and also the Director of Percussion Ensembles and Assistant Orchestra Director at Daviess County High School. His duties with the Daviess County High School Band include the Marching band of Pride, Jazz Bands, Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble. He also Co-Teaches at both College View Middle School with Jed Manire and Daviess County Middle School with David Ruckdeschel. Before coming to Daviess County, Mr. Payton was the Band Director of Union County for 5 years and Assistant Band Director of Union county for 3 years.
Mr. Payton is a graduate of Murray State University with a Music Education Degree. While at Murray State, Mr. Payton was a member of the Murray State University Racer Band, Murray State University Wind Ensemble, Murray State University Orchestra, and Murray State University Percussion Ensemble.
Mr. Payton’s Professional affiliations include Kentucky Music Educators Association, NAFME, Tri-M Society, ASTA, and the Percussive Arts Society.
